Seeing 2010 (#108)

For your consideration: a black & white entry from nature's tapestry of leaves -- awash with rivulets and conveying a slight illusion of contours by way of symmetric shadowing.

Originally color digital, converted to simulate Ilford Pan F plus 50 . . .

The photographer comments, "Originally color digital, converted to simulate Ilford Pan F plus 50..."

Sucker bait. This is a tour de force of strong patterns, voluptuously curved shadows, sleek greys and deceptive small veinings which create false greys, all members of a conspiracy to convince the viewer of waves, of undulation in a flat field. This is a wonderfully sneaky piece, a sort of photographic roller skate on the stairs, innocently awaiting the viewer.
